The #6 Virginia Tech Hokies travel to the Queen City on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Charlotte 49ers. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.

The 49ers are 13-3 on the year with losses to Notre Dame (16-1), #14/#9 Clemson (5-2), and RV Wichita State (10-2). Among the wins that the 49ers have recorded this year are UVA (10-7), South Carolina (6-1), James Madison (6-1), and Minnesota (4-3).

The 49ers are led by last season’s C-USA Player of the Year Bailey Vannoy, who has led team in the majority of offensive categories for the past two seasons. The senior catcher is continuing her offensive output again this year, currently hitting .481, with 6 home runs and 15 RBIs.

Junior Cori Henderson is not far behind with a .412 average, followed by Ella Chancey (.378) and Stacy Payton (.333).

Senior Lindsey Walljasper (5-1, 3.07 ERA) has gotten most of the team's critical starts this season. She has 36 Ks in 41 innings. Madelyn Wright (2-2, 5.32 ERA) is second in starts with 5 and has struck out 12 batters in 25 innings.
